Great success of Maciej Hamera in England. The 303 Squadron Team driver is the first Pole who win the prestigious Super One Series round. Last weekend on the Rowrah kart track in Northern England the Polish driver defeated his rivals in the opening season of the Rotax racing weekend in S1.
This year’s season is the second in the Super One Series in Maciek Hamera’s career. In 2019, Hamera competes in the Junior Max category, and the Super One Series in Rowrah was the first racing weekend in which the drivers of the Rotax Junior Max category presented themselves. Maciej sensationally raced at the opening of the competition, winning pole position and three of four races. A Pole living in Reading took the lead in the general classification.
In the Saturday round inaugurating the Rotax season of the Super One Series Hamera won pole position in the official training without any problems. In first race he moved from the first position and for 17 laps he led a fierce fight for the lead with the biggest rival, Daniel Armstrong. Eventually he passed the finish line first.
In the final race he had to acknowledge the superiority of Armstrong, who copied the Pole’s action without giving the lead to the finish line.
The second day of the competition Maciej Hamera started from the second position but he did not give up any of the two final races. In the first one he outclassed rivals noting the advantage of over four seconds, in the second he won a minimal, but it didn’t prevent him from winning the main trophy of the weekend and taking the lead in the general classification.
Maciej Hamera is the first Polish driver who won the prestige Super One Series competition in the UK for almost 40 years! This is one of the greatest successes of the Pole in recent times, which is slowly beginning to come out of the shadow in English karting.
The next round of the Super One Series with Maciek Hamera will take place in two weeks in Welsh Glan Y Gors Park.
