Jace Denmark-Gessel competes this week on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli of Sarno, Italy, in the 20th edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals where he’ll defend the colors of the Team USA within the Senior MAX class in one of the most competitive karting events in the world!
Two weeks after his competitive appearance in the ROK Cup Superfinal held at Lonato where he was constantly amongst the fastest of the Super ROK category, Jace Denmark-Gessel is back in Europe for his second consecutive international commitment, again in Italy where he’ll discover the pinnacle event of all Rotax-branded competitions in the world: the Grand Finals taking place on the International Karting track of Sarno!
The American hopeful obtained his ticket for the race thanks to his victory in the Senior MAX category at the Rotax ‘Stars & Stripes’ Open event held in Pittsburgh in early August. While challenges will be numerous throughout the week in Sarno, especially finding his marks around the 1700 meter-long track for the first time, Jace already feels ready to take them all up thanks to his already long experience of big events on home soil.
“This is indeed my first time at the Rotax Grand Finals but also on the Circuit of Sarno! There are so many drivers involved, a new track to learn, a new environment to get used to but I’m no stranger to that kind of big race from my experiences in the US. Still, ambitions are high and we’ll try to make the most of it. I’ll be with a strong team including Carlos Obregon as my mechanic but also Ryan Perry and Travis Wiley to help me achieve my goals. Big thanks again my family for making this happen!”, he said prior to the start of the event.
