A new European series is to be launched in the 2020 season in the Rok categories. Two rounds are planned for the inauguration of this new European cycle on tracks in Germany and Italy. This is a completely new project, which will mainly include drivers from Central and Eastern Europe. Poles will constitute the core of the new series.
Euro Rok, as the new international Rok Cup series, is a competition offered for two racing weekends in the 2020 season. Rokkers will race in German Ampfing and Italian Adria in May and August next year. The series is dedicated to drivers from Central and Eastern Europe, mainly from Germany, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Poland. It is the Poles who are the most numerous group of drivers east of Italy in the Year Cup, are to constitute the main national team of the new series.
The first round of Euro Rok is to take place in German Ampfing at the beginning of May next year. Drivers are expected to start a new series on the long May weekend at the Bavarian international Kartbahn Ampfing. However, the second and final round is planned for the track in Italian Rovigo, that is Adria International Raceway in August. We have unofficially learned that this will be the first weekend in August, just before the fourth round of the Polish Rok Cup series.
Euro Rok, although in its assumption will certainly differ from other series operating on the karting market, seems to be the equivalent of Rotax CEE organized by Hungarians and thriving successfully for several seasons in our part of Europe.
The “European” Rok Cup events were played in Poland several times in recent years. Expecially The European final of the Rok in Gostyń, which was last played in the 2011 season, has gone down in history.
Planned dates for Euro Rok:
02-03 May 2020, Ampfing (Germany)
01-02 August 2020, Adria (Italy)
