Ukrainians appeal to the international motorsport community. Another appeal was made by Oleksandr Bondarev’s mother, the leader of the WSK Super Master Series general classification and the third driver of last year’s FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
In the post on Oksana Bryzgalova’s social profile, we can read the following words:
“Good afternoon colleagues, Ukrainians!
My name is Oksana Bryzgalova, I am a mother of a world-class go-kart racer, Oleksandr Bondarev, and co-founder of the Vira racing team. Right now, I am at the WSK world karting competition, where, by the way, Alexander is leading in the championship. And I see and hear especially strongly among the russian representatives of the pilots and their parents a lack of understanding of the horror of the situation in which our country finds itself after the attack of Russia and Belarus. They say, “What’s the matter?” Sport is out of politics,” but is it really so?
Like you, I have just received an answer to the FAU’s request to the FIA regarding the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Do think the negative response of the FIA to our request to exclude russian and belarusian athletes from international competitions is ridicule, don’t you? Spit in the face of Ukrainian athletes, as well as athletes around the world who publicly speak out and refuse matches, tournaments, competitions with representatives of the aggressor’s country? Spitting towards the Olympic Committee, IIHF (International Hockey Federation) and others …
Does the FIA understand the meaning of our request to them? We are not worried about russian symbols, their flag and anthem, we are worried about every russian who is involved in the fact that the rule of putin, a terrorist and a murderer, in their country has become possible. Our request is that every citizen of russia and belarus feel the inconvenience of living, doing business, sports in the aggressor country, as well as our country, every citizen now suffers from bombings, shelling and the scale of this tragedy. At this moment, the whole world is watching us and our courage and strength of opposition, and I believe that in these conditions, solving the issues proposed to us by half-measures is not possible.
What the FIA offers us is half a measure!
Replace the russian flag with the FIA flag? What’s the point?
I urge you to continue negotiations with the FIA and insist on a ban on all russian and belarusian license holders participating in international competitions. This will not allow the representatives of the aggressor countries to quickly change their shoes and continue their journey as if nothing had happened in our country through their fault.
Ps. The photo shows my son’s test work at the art school.
