Jamaican Alex Powell became the winner of the Rok Cup Superfinal in the Mini Rok category. However, Polish karting fans enjoy the third place of Janek Przyrowski. Once again Polish driver stood on the podium at Lonato.
Jan Przyrowski stood on the podium of the Rok Cup Superfinal 2019. This is the biggest success of a young driver from Poland on the international stage. The competition in the youngest category of the event was won by the amazing Jamaican Alex Powell, and the second in the final was Russian Dmitrii Matveev.
The competition for the youngest category in Lonato was one of the most interesting of this year’s Supperfinal Rok Cup. 130 drivers from around the world stood at the start line, including a large 14-person team from Poland. In the grand final we saw three Polish drivers. Jan Przyrowski finished in fourth place, but the penalty for one of the top rivals gave him a podium. Maciej Gładysz came to the finish in sixth place, and Franciszek Czapla finished the race as the 29th competitor.
The final battle was an extremely exciting spectacle. Alex Powell, whom we know very well from WSK was undoubtedly the best driver of the day at South Garda Karting. He reached for the world cup, although the fight for victory lasted until the last meters of the race. The biggest bad luck for the grand final was American Kai Sorensen, who received the penalty and landed from the 3rd position to 21st. Thanks to this, Jan Przyrowski who finished just before him jumped on the podium, which, as it turned out later, was Poland’s highest place in this event.
Przyrowski and Gładysz were among the leaders in the youngest drivers’ rank. Maciej Gładysz won the qualification and achieving the best result among all 130 competitors started to fight for the world cup from the first position. Unfortunately, after a few final laps he lost his leadership position and eventually checked in to finish in sixth place.
Jan Przyrowski drove in the final very carefully but quickly. Thanks to this, starting from the fourth field he didn’t lose contact with the leaders and skillfully clung to the Russian Matveev. In the decisive phase of the race, the Polish driver even took the lead, but after one lap he gave way to Jamaican, who finished first several circles later. Janek was just before the finish line in the fourth, worst position for the athlete. However, after the competition ended, it turned out that the sharp and ruthless American was punished for the bumper and bade farewell to the podium of the grand final for the Pole. A well-deserved podium, for an excellent fight in the final race.
Franciszek Czapla also took part in the grand final, for whom promotion to the close final group was a great success. Franek started from the 29th position and after 12 laps he defended it, leaving behind several drivers from Asia and South America. Participation in the final of Frank Czapla was undoubtedly the success of this driver, who in Poland also successfully finished the competition on the fourth position in the cup series.
In B final of the event, Piotr Czaja finished second. In addition, Bartosz Grzywacz (P8), Franciszek Hałatnik (P15), Oliwier Kobiela (P19), Marcel Kasprzycki (P20), Iwo Beszterda (P27) and Franciszek Lassota (P30) took part in the Mini Rok Singha Trophy.
Other drivers from Poland ended their participation in the event at qualifying races. They were Serafin Derżyński, Eryk Drzał, Maksymilian Rafalik and Mateusz Piszczako.
