The second round of the FIA Karting European Championship took place in Belgian Genk last weekend. Tymoteusz Kucharczyk and Karol Pasiewicz qualified for the final of the event. Marcel Kuc was less fortunate.
Tymek Kucharczyk, Karol Pasiewicz and Marcel Kuc took part in the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship, which took place in the Belgian Genk. The first two drivers qualified for the final of the event, the third, unfortunately, was quite unlucky. He lost after qualifying, losing his promotion in the rainy qualifying race. Marcel ran in this competition, but unexpected rain, which surprised the racers on the track, caused the Pole to fall off the track. Only two points were missing for Marcel’s final promotion to the final…
Kuc noted good results in Belgian qualifications. 16th time in 77 drivers, 5th, 8th, 14th and twice 19th place in heat. Therefore, the lack of promotion to the final in such circumstances was certainly frustrating. The more so that Marcel is probably thinking behind the wheel of a high-class stroller, senior OK, in which we will see him soon.
The last driver on the list who “got into” the final was Karol Pasiewicz. 34th place after qualifying gave him the entrance to the final group and start in the final race from the last position. In the end, Karol ended the competition in the final race also by closing the bid on the 26th position (eight drivers did not finish the race).
Karol took two positions higher than Marcel Kuc after qualifying heats. In the official training he was 47th, in the heats he was in the middle of the stakes (P17, P14, P16, P12) although he flashed fourth in the first qualifying race.
The third Polish driver Tymek Kucharczyk came to the finish line in final at 16th place. Before the racing weekend in Belgium Tymek was fourth in the general classification. We counted on his good performance in the hope that he will be able to stick to the top three. We have to postpone the expectations for later, because after the Belgian round Tymek has fallen to sixth place, but he still counts in the fight for the podium.
The final race in Belgium was unlucky for him, because starting from the 10th field he finally lost 6 positions. We know perfectly well that he can find himself among the best starting from further places. Qualifications were very successful for him. P11 after the official training, in races P6, P3, P11, P7 and P8. These results gave him a position higher than the conqueror pole positione Conrad Laursen from Danmark.
Another racing weekend of the FIA Karting European Championship is planned in faraway Sweden. Kristianstad, who returned to the calendar a few seasons ago, each year hosts drivers racing in the European and world championships. Let’s hope that this season will be happy for our drivers.
The rivalry in the juniors category was won by the Frenchman Marcus Amand, who after a beautiful fight in the final came to the finish line in front of the Irishman Alexander Dunne and Dutchman Thomas Ten Brinke.
